Dear Friends, I am in town for just a few days in between work sessions readying BANDALOOP's Broadway premiere as vertical choreographer for the new musical Redwood (opens Feb 13!). It is an exciting and intense project to be a part of and it is a relief to return to my home away from home, BANDALOOP Studios, if only for a moment and breath. Arriving at the Studios today, light streamed through the windows onto our open wood floor wth dance class in full swing upon them. A wave of gratitude hit me. At home and away, BANDALOOP is living into its purpose. We exist to create a radical space for dance- on the streets, around the world, in our West Oakland Studios - in our COMMUNITY, wherever it may be.  With the generosity of our community, supporters like you, this vision and purpose grows stronger. Come cheer on our vertical dance teachers and seasoned students at EMERGENCE this Saturday. Stemming from the estuary of artistic research come six dynamic, tender, and evocative works in progress. More information and tickets here. Want to try it yourself? We will run our signature Free to Fly from 5:15 PM and 7:30 PM on 12/14 at BANDALOOP Studios. No pre-registration required, these 20 min session are first come first serve and suitable for most movers.   Your donations, large and small, monthly or as one-time gifts, are needed and appreciated for BANDALOOP to ascend in 2025.
