‘What a year of highs and lows, of massive swings, at times challenging to be handled even by an accomplished aerialist… I feel I was on fire and under fire at the same time, working very hard to keep grounded, when everything around me was spinning at great velocity. It has also been a year of great accomplishments, as you shall read below. A massive thank you to our collaborators, colleagues, audience, participants and supporters, because of you we are here to tell our stories…’  - Daniela Essart, Artistic Director

2022 HIGHLIGHTS

EMERGING
Emerging has been with us for over three years, a work of care, love and courage. We created the performance with our amazing team, we premiered it at The Lowry and then we decided to cancel the rest of the tour to protect the mental health and wellbeing of our main collaborators.

After sometime of reflection, we are now giving a legacy to this work by creating a digital version of Emerging the performance, and offering three micro-commissions to young and emerging queer, transgender and non-binary artists.
Please join us on 3 & 4 February 2023 at Jacksons Lane DON’T MISS IT!
CO-OP LOCAL CAUSE - TAKE FLIGHT

We’re thrilled to announce our Take Flight programme has been chosen as a Co-op Local Community Fund cause. The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects across the UK: every time members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every £1 spent goes to your membership account and 2p goes to support to local causes like our Take Flight programme.

The more Co-op members that choose us as their cause, the more money we can raise for our crucial Take Flight programme. So if you’re a Co-op member, or shop at the Co-op and would become a member (it only costs £1 and you get loads of benefits) then please visit our cause page and choose us!

TAKE FLIGHT
Our young aerialist have really outdone themselves this year, they've grown, progressed and produced! After a year of practicing and working together they created a wonderful end of year showcase: 'JOY IS...' a collection of aerial choreography on hoops, cocoons, silks and Chinese pole.
FLYING FAMILIES
This year has seen us visit three brilliant Primary Schools in Islington: Ambler Primary SchoolGrafton Primary School and Pakeman Primary School.

We support families that are living under difficult circumstances or have complex needs, working with them to form stronger bonds, feel less stressed, less anxious, and more able to have fun as a family. It has been such a pleasure to share our skills with families that felt grateful for this offer.

“It’s allowed me to connect with my daughter. The highlight of my week”
FANTASTIC FOR FAMILIES NOMINATION
We were thrilled when our Flying Families programme was shortlisted for the Best Family Arts Activity by Family Arts - Fantastic for Families Awards. It was wonderful to meet all the amazing youth, community and arts organisations that offer such a huge range essential services and projects to their local communities.
FLYING INTO PHYSICS
We have been finally able to roll out our Flying into Physic programme in full. We worked with a total of 10 schools in Barnet, Brent, Camden and Islington, where over 450 children were able to experience science in an exciting and engaging way. A huge thank you to all the teachers and school staff for supporting us and of course to all the children who joined in enthusiastically.

“The children absolutely LOVED it! Science has never been more fun."
