With 2022 in the rear view... Here are some highlights!
Thank you to all who collaborated, conversed, and created with me this year.
I look forward to continue to work with this incredible momentum into 2023 and beyond!
February, 2022 Zaccho Dance Theatre and Grace Cathedral presented Love, a state of grace
I spent the first weeks of 2022 flying on a 90 foot high swing on a 150 foot wide pendulum, from labyrinth to altar, inside San Francisco's historic Grace Cathedral. This was a life altering experience for me as a performer and aerialist.
This was possible thanks to the collaboration of many incredible artists. Thanks to head rigger Dave Frietag, and the rigging team for pulling this together. Thanks to Krissy Keeny and LightSwitch Design for transforming the sacred cathedral into a stage for spectacle and reflection. A BIG thank you to director and visionary Joanna Haigoodfor cultivating this environment and inviting me into the deep study of surrender.

Los Trompos: Activate at Bay Area Discovery Museum, Sausalito, CA
Helen Wicks Works was honored to be commissioned by Bay Area Discovery Museum to make a new work! We had a blast creating a show for the opening of theLos Tromposexhibit. With the brilliance of collaborating artists Ciarra D'Onofrio and Saharla Vetsch we choreographed an interactive acrobatic performance on the joy-filled life size spinning tops designed by contemporary Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena.
The multigenerational audiences and culminating dance parties were a highlight of my year!
Over the summer solstice, I headed to the Eastern Sierras to train with Bandaloop.
