March-ing into Spring with Flyaway In this Newsletter: Watch KIDFLY: Dance for Ikarus Video Apply to for Paid Summer Internship with Flyaway Apply for GIRLFLY in the Gardens 2021 Summer Program Read Flyaway's Equity Statement & Land Acknowledgement Witness this adorably fun dance video KIDFLY: Dance for Ikarus A Page to Stage Project of Flyaway Jamestown Community Center and 826 Valencia invited Flyaway to teach in their Hub. This is an important time to support youth in the Mission. These story-focused dance classes combine literacy and embodied learning. We read, study characters, settings, pictures and plots. Then we create movement based on our readings. This class is designed as a bridge between academic need and artistic expression. We Start with a Book and End with a Dance.   Created by: Jo Kreiter and the Students of Jamestown Community Center Inspired by: The Children's Book WINGS, by Christopher Myers Video Filmed and Edited by: Megan Lowe Music by: Jewlia Eisenberg and Laura Inserra Flyaway is seeking a Paid Summer Intern to support our GIRLFLY Program "GIRFLY gives me hope that our young generation has the compassion to learn about the world's hardships." We are hiring a college age intern to support our youth arts program. We want to work with a dance artist who is interested in the intersection of performance and community empowerment.
