How is it possible that we have already reached the end of February? No matter what, time moves... and so do we.
While we continue to witness and experience divisive measures and ongoing struggles for justice and equity - in our cities, country and global community - we also stand at a powerful crossroads.
A centennial celebration of Black history. The rising dawn of Women’s History Month. The fiery arrival of the Fire Horse Lunar New Year.
We honor the Black visionaries who built the stages we stand on. We uplift the women whose mind and bodies have carried revolutions forward. We welcome the Fire Horse, a symbol of passion, courage, and unstoppable spirit.
And in this moment of political strife and cultural convergence, we recommit to art as gathering place, as ritual, as bridge.
And, to help usher the many new histories that are being birthed, we continue to move.

| The Artist in Residence (AiR) Program at Zaccho Studio extends reduced rent studio space to outstanding established and emerging artists in the field of contemporary and aerial dance. Our studio is equipped with a 3,200ft² sprung floor, multiple anchor points for rigging, seating for up to 99 audience members and ample natural and artificial light.
Artists receive a six-month residency with up to six hours per week, subsidized studio rental at $10 per hour (standard rate $37/hour) up to 100-hours, endorsements of AIR on our website, e-newsletter, residency blog, and social networks, and a discounted performance rental rate.

This FREE event offers a deeply human and creative exploration of Coretta Scott King as a woman, a vocal artist, and a visionary partner in the Civil Rights movement. Once a promising opera singer, Coretta made a historic and life-altering decision to align in marriage, soul, and purpose with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a choice that helped shape on of the most transformative movements in American history. This work centers her voice and agency, and illuminates her enduring legacy.

| Zaccho Dance Theatre Presents:Return to Forever |
Inspired by Artistic Director Joanna Haigood’s rediscovery of a handwritten song log from her teenage years as a radio disc jockey in Vermont, Return to Forever is a meditation on time, memory, and the enduring presence of our past selves.
The music, drawn from Haigood’s 1975 playlist of iconic American artists such as Billie Holiday and Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, serves as an emotional bridge between youth and elderhood, recalling moments of joy, curiosity, and creative awakening. |

The 7th Biennial San Francisco Aerial Arts Festival (SFAAF) is the first and only festival of its kind in Northern California, bringing together the region’s most innovative aerial artists.
Co-produced by Zaccho Dance Theatre and Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, SFAAF celebrates daring, unconventional artists through a premiere three-day festival - and Film Festival! - that fuses breathtaking spectacle, fearless athleticism, and boundary-pushing aerial dance and circus performance.
