Dear Community,

I’m writing to invite you to an upcoming show(s) in SF & NYC.

I will also share info about upcoming youth summer camps.

Adult class offerings coming Fall 2026!

Helen Wicks will perform

a new excerpt of

Radio Vision

next Saturday 2/28

at FACT/SF Winter Salon

Feb 28 | ODC Theater, Mission District SF, 7:00pm

Radio Vision, choreographed and performed by Helen Wicks, uses expressive acrobatic dance, dramatic black and white movie makeup, acting, behind the scenes Hollywood stories from oral history interviews, 16mm film, and sound from 1930s musical shorts to re-frame spectacle on the stage and screen over the past 100 years.    Appropriate for all ages.

NYC Community! You’re invited!

Spread the word!

Presenting a full (for now) version of Radio Vision

April 7 & April 8 @ Arts on Site, 7:30 pm

12 St Marks Pl

A split bill with choreographer, poet, clown Stephanie Saywell.

Radio Vision is a dance that synthesizes a decade of ancestral research on Helen’s great grandfather, Hollywood music supervisor, Joe Gershenson, and a conversation she had with his mentee/colleague, musician Quincy Jones in 2018. Radio Vision, an original term for broadcast television, explores how Yiddish theater, vaudeville, and early westerns influence pop culture. The work uses epigenetics, oral history, fantasy, and memory to contextualize performance, entertainment, and technology over time.

The Nadia Boulanger piece of live music for cello and piano that opens Radio Vision will be played by renowned Julliard musicians Lydia Rhea and Amber Scherer.

Summer Camps!

Helen will lead youth summer camps in 3 different Bay Area locations.

Bay Area folks, please share with anyone in your network with youth who may be interested in embodied creative joy this summer.

If cost is a hurdle reach out for options & any other questions.
