Newsworthy Métis Jigging and Dancing Workshop  2023 ,5 & Feb 4  Dance Community Chrystal Dance Prize - Projects Winner Dance Victoria is excited to announce the recipients of the Chrystal Dance Prize-Projects, committing $47,000 in commissioning support for international dance collaborations. The prize is generated from a bequest made by Dance Victoria patron, Dr. Betty “Chrystal” Kleiman, to the Victoria Foundation and supports exceptional dance research and/or creation between a Western Canadian dance artist, collective or company and an international dance artist (interpreter or choreographer). Julia Taffe of Aeriosa Dance Society receives $22,000 to support site-specific vertical dance performances and public engagement activities with Croatian choreographer Marija Scekic of Histeria Nova Artistic Organization. Current Winter Session of Vertical Dance Classes Our NEW Friday night winter class series starts later this week on January 27th. There are just a few spots left. This 2-hour class is designed for returning Roundhouse participants who are ready to learn some classic choreography from the Aeriosa repertoire. For this session, we are accommodating a small group of new participants by providing split-level instruction for the first few classes.
