2021 Update & 2022 Courses

Hello! Well, we've had rather a busy summer... not all in person and not as much as usual but busy nonetheless and very grateful for it. And we're not done yet!

Dissecting Aerial symposium is back in January 2022 - running globally for the first time. We have a short course in Social Media Marketing for Aerial Dance - running online, live and on-demand in February 2022. Plus Early Bird Discounts on all our courses and more from our friends.

Hopefully we've got plenty to keep you entertained and active over winter.

2021 Update

As has been the case for many, we shifted most of our activity and training courses online this year and delighted all the more in the opportunities we had to connect with you all live and in-person. We delivered:

  • 26x live and in-person performances of 'Why' at outdoor festivals across England
  • 28x Grounded Aerial blogs, sharing insights and learning from exceptional artists across the globe
  • 2x 4-week remote Aerial Dance on Film courses - 'Moving Body, Moving Image' and 'Aerial Dances, Screen Bodies, Emotional Materials’
  • a 2-day Practical Aerial Dance for Camera Intensive live and in-person, and
  • 3x 5-day Vertical and Aerial Dance Harness Creative Labs for professional artists, intermediate explorers and beginners.
Phew! Thank you to everyone that took part, we absolutely loved connecting with you after time apart and hope you felt enriched and connected as a community.

'Rowan Rock' Film

We recently shot a new aerial dance film, ‘Rowan Rock’, which is a collaboration between our Artistic Director Lindsey Butcher, G&L's long time photographer and videographer Mark Morreaux, and fantastic sound designer and musician Scott Smith.

We're releasing the film later this week, so keep an eye on our socials. We're also excited to be getting the film audio described in the new year by Vocal Eyes, as part of their '100 Videos Described' initiative. If you don't know about it, check it out, its a brilliant opportunity to learn more about audio description and to make your work more accessible.

10for10 Again!

Our generous sponsors FireToys are once again offering you 10% off purchases on their website whilst also sponsoring EADF 2022. The premise is simple - you buy your gear or Christmas gifts at FireToys, use the voucher code "10for10" at the cheque out to get 10% off your purchase, and FireToys generously donate 10% of your sale to EADF!

In 2019, '10for10' raised a whopping £1400 and we'd love to triple this ahead of EADF 2022 so that we can update the gear and equipment we make available to students and to provide access accommodations for disabled aerialists at the festival.

Go on, It's a win win win situation!
