Dances From Thin Air

Dances from Thin Air is a multimedia evening of vertical dance and film of the company’s recent mountain dances. For one night only, BANDALOOP will light up the Great Wall Oakland at Broadway and West Grand with its acclaimed, dynamic vertical dance.
The award-winning short film SHIFT, shot in Yosemite National Park in 2015 and recent footage of the new work Coyote Waltzes filmed as part of the National Park Service Centennial will frame the live performance on the wall. Learn more.

Great Big Story & Harper's BAZAAR

In the past few weeks, BANDALOOP has had the incredible fortune to bring its perspective-changing dance to new audiences around the world.

Great Big Story is dedicated to "the untold, the overlooked, and the flat-out amazing." This stunning piece captures the essence of the pioneers of vertical dance. Watch the story, Sky Dancing.

This new workshop provides young dancers a chance to regularly ascend into a fun and challenging practice of BANDALOOP’s signature style of dance. From a foundation of safety and equipment training, the workshop will activate BANDALOOP Studio’s dance walls, trampoline wall, and low flying floor space with fun and rigorous dancing. Age appropriate lessons include harness movement fundamentals, creative process, and more advanced work (wall running, flipping, extended air time, partnering). All gear will be supplied.
