Professional Development Opportunity for DANCE/PERFORMING artists
LEFTCOAST (Blackpool) is offering an amazing opportunity to dance and fly in Blackpool Town Centre with Wired Aerial Theatre. On the 27th and 28th September 2014 Wired Aerial Theatre will be performing their large-scale outdoor show, ‘As The World Tipped’ Blackpool Cricket Club, West Park Drive, FY3 9EQ and together with LEFTCOAST have created a fantastic opportunity for local experienced performers to get involved in the weeks leading up to the show.
As part of LEFTCOAST’s audience development activity programme, we are looking to work with some local, experienced dance performers (18yrs +) to create a pop up aerial performance in the town centre of BLACKPOOL. This would involve learning aerial skills, devising and performing a piece of aerial work with the company, which will encompass and use many of the same range of skills as ‘As The World Tipped’. Not only is it an opportunity to come and experience how Wired do what they do, but you will also get to see the town from a whole new angle!
As this will be a quick and intense creative workshop we need participants to be able to take on board the techniques we will be sharing with them and learn and retain choreography as well as to be capable of creating their own moves and grooves. The work will involve a fair bit of grit attitude as harness work is sore and can be exhausting too but the feeling it gives you (for most) over comes all of these side effects.
Performers with experience in Hip hop/break dance/contemporary dance and other aerial skills are welcome to apply.
