Dear Friends, My body landed four days ago, but my soul is still stretched across the Atlantic, clinging to the sea spray of Ireland’s West Coast. I recently returned from a two-week residency at the Irish Aerial Creation Centre in Limerick, where I had the pleasure of working with six dancers to explore rigging innovations and develop new work. During my time there, I also taught vertical dance as part of an International Meet-Up with 40 performers from eight countries. It was grand. research, teaching, and fun in Ireland Now back in the studio in Oakland, we are rehearsing for our free public open rehearsal, Fermenting Hope. It’s a pleasure to be working again with dancers Faith Elder, Ciarra D’Onofrio, Clarissa Dyas, Kriss Rulifson, Olivia Sander, composer Luke Mombrea, and sculptor Tod Laby. Excited for the new dancers joining this project: Aja Randall and Johnny Huy Nguyen. Please SAVE THE DATE: - When: November 13th at 7:00 PM - Where: Faction Brewing in Alameda Free! RSVP @ RadiumArtsAlameda We will share about 30 minutes of work-in-progress, followed by a conversation with me, you, and Jonathan Moscone—artistic director at Radium Arts and former California Arts Council Executive Director. Drinks will be available, including craft beer from Faction as well as non-alcoholic kombucha. We will either be lifting our glasses to celebrate after the November election (lets HOPE) or we will be regrouping to find the muscularity that will be needed to create the conditions for new hope to take root.  See you there!
