The site-specific work will be performed at 1pm and 3pm, and will include a selection of traditional Squamish songs and dances by the Spakwus Slulem dancers and artistic director Bob S7aplek Baker, vertical dance work by the Aeriosa dancers, and the ‘Gathering of Eagles’ social dance.

*Audience members are welcome and encouraged to bring low lawn chairs or a blanket for viewing the show.

*VanDusen Botanical Garden offers free admission to all self-identifying Indigenous Peoples. This offer is available in-person at the admission desk, no pre-booking required.

Intro to Vertical Dance

Session 1: September 25 - October 16

Session 2: October 23 - November 13

Registration:

4-class series: $160

Capacity: Maximum 10 participants per session

Participants are invited to join us for either class series, and those interested in attending both sessions are welcome to express their interest upon registration.

No prerequisites required. Suitable for participants of all levels. No previous dance or climbing experience is needed.

The Aeriosa team is in the midst of brainstorming our 2027 workshop and class offerings, and we've got all kinds of ideas brewing!

We'd love to hear from you as we consider:

What workshop content are you interested in?
ex: Intro classes, counter balance systems, big wall, outdoor cliff dancing, outdoor tree dancing, rigging and behind the scenes safety, and other classes.

What workshop format fits best?
ex: A 1, 2, or 3 day weekend intensive, a multi-week series where classes meet once a week ongoing, or other formats.

Where should we host workshops?
ex: Vancouver, Squamish, Tofino, or elsewhere.
