Dear Friends,
It's Giving Tuesday! I’ll be brief.
Flyaway doesn't look away. When inequity shows up on our street corners, when histories of resistance are erased, when women's voices are silenced behind prison walls—we respond. In this moment of authoritarian turmoil, hyper-local public art isn't just our strategy—it's our survival.
For our 30th anniversary season, we're launching FREEDOM COMES WHEN ONE WALKS THROUGH IT—free, site-specific performances that will contrast public libraries (designed to freely nourish people) with prisons (designed for punishment and cruel indifference). We'll create dance-based public art at three libraries across San Francisco, amplifying the voices of incarcerated women and uplifting their pathways to liberation. |
