πŸŽͺ With over a decade of teaching experience and a distinguished career that includes performances in 31 cities across 10 countries, Enya is renowned for her unique dance trapeze style featured in Luzia by Cirque de Soleil.

Naissa BjΓΈrn & Daniela Essart

Topic: Creating safe and brave spaces to flourish in creation and performance

Joining us on Day 2 with a live Q&A are Naissa, an interdisciplinary movement artist, and Daniela, the co-founder and artistic director of Scarabeus Aerial Theatre. 🎭

Aerial and movement are the languages that come most natural to Daniela and Naissa (above right) for storytelling. Through working together and within their own practices as artistic director and performer/collaborator, they have interrogated what it means to have the courage to be vulnerable within a carefully constructed safety net.

Emma Poole

Topic: Body of Worth

Talented aerial rope artist Emma (above left) will be joining us on Day 2. Her topic addresses how self esteem and body image impact how we navigate the aerial world.

🎀 An instructor and psychologist as well as an international performer, Emma will share her research and tools on how we can improve how we see ourselves, to aid a happier and healthier relationship with our artistry. There'll be a Q&A so you can ask away! ✨

Dr Jessica Eccles

Topic: Bendy Bodies, Bendy Brain

With a talk titled 'Bendy Bodies, Bendy Brain', how can we *not* want to hear what Dr Jessica Eccles has to say on Day 2 of #DA2024? We can't wait for her fascinating insight into how the brain and body are dynamically coupled. 🧠🧍

A researcher and neurodevelopmental psychiatrist, Dr Eccles specialises in the links between brain and body, especially as they relate to flexible joints (hypermobility).

In her presentation, she will draw on her prize-winning work in the field of hypermobility/EDS, to demonstrate brain-body links and how they may relate to neurodivergent conditions including ADHD and Autism.

Dancing with the Tree - 2nd Edition
Our AD Lindsey will be teaching in collaboration with the wonderful Magalie Lanriot in the National Park of Mafra, Portugal. The first course has already sold out - woohoo - so we're running a 2nd edition on May 6th-8th.

'Dancing with the Tree' is an immersive retreat that invites you to depart from our usual urban environment of vertical dance practice to connect with the natural world. This unexpected space, the forest, and the verticality of the tree serve as both an animated dance floor and a willing collaborator. πŸ’š
