IF I GIVE YOU MY SORROWS features three musicians: Pamela Z, Carla Kihlstedt, and Kalyn Harewood |

Pamela Z is a composer/performer and media artist making works for voice, electronics, samples, gesture activated MIDI controllers, and video. She has toured throughout the US, Europe, and Japan. Her work has been presented at venues and exhibitions including Bang on a Can (NY), the Japan Interlink Festival, Other Minds (SF), and the Venice Biennale, and the Dakar Biennale. She has composed scores for dance, film, and chamber ensembles (including Kronos Quartet and Eighth Blackbird). Her awards include the Rome Prize, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, MIT McDermott Award, the Guggenheim, American Academy of Arts and Letters, and Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. |

Carla Kihlstedt composer, collaborator, violinist, singer, improviser, educator and instigator. Her musical voice is grounded in the economy and immediacy of song form, which allows her to explore complex worlds – the ocean, dreams, imaginary creatures, the machine age, quarantine – through many different lenses. Carla has had the pleasure of playing and/or recording with many wonderful musicians/bands, including Tom Waits, Ben Goldberg, Trevor Dunn, Ches Smith, Anna Webber, Mary Halvorsen, Zeena Parkins, Tony Maimone, Tracy Chapman, Madeleine Peyroux, Mr. Bungle and Brooklyn Rider. She has also created soundtracks for dance companies Flyaway Productions, inkBoat, and Joe Goode Performance Group. |

Kalyn Harewood is a Barbadian American composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and music producer, born in Laredo, TX in 1998 and currently residing in the Chicago area. Her compositions and performances as highly intuitive and displaying of a complex approach to melody, harmony, arrangement, and musical storytelling. Kalyn obtained her undergraduate degree in Vocal Music performance in 2021 from the University of Wisconsin Parkside. She went on to continue her studies at the Vermont College of Fine Arts and recently graduated with a Masters degree in Music composition. Kalyn is working on the upcoming release (September 2023) of her self-produced thesis/debut Album, Blooming. |
