In July we made our German debut with "Momentum Curve," a new work commissioned by BMW, activating its iconic four cylinder headquarter building in Munich. “We took inspiration from the curvature of this building, recognizing that the human body expresses in curves and spirals, and the momentum of the human heart driving us toward a livable world for future generations,” says BANDALOOP Artistic Director, Melecio Estrella.
The premiere of "Momentum Curve" celebrated the 50th anniversary of this landmark, and now a center piece of a new short documentary released by BMW Group, featuring interviews with Estrella, Executive Director Thomas Cavanagh, as well as dancers Rachael Lincoln, Rose Huey and others, revealing the intense and the intricate process of planning a site-reactive vertical performance. It is many months of creation condensed into 10 minutes of storytelling! Enjoy!
