Noch drei Tage bis zur Premiere von "ich im Wunderland"
We are all mad here…
...we must be, otherwise we wouldn't be here.
The hole is at six metres height, up to the ceiling it's 9.50 metres, just looking up from below makes you dizzy. The slender girl who pushes her way out of the hole and walks down the brick wall, doesn't seem to mind. Held by a rope in the back, she seems to defy gravity. Fully body-tensioned, she advances foot by foot. Then she pushes off with a powerful swing. Arms and legs outstretched. As if she was flying. Linda (8) is rehearsing.
"Linda, don't let the pace of the rabbits get to you. Remember: you're only playing you!" calls director Herbie Hasters out to her. Linda plays the part of Alice - and has to pull a lot of things together: Acting and paying attention to safety at the same time, catching the cue, changing the costume at the right place….
The rabbits Liah (8) and Josephine (8) are waiting for their turn.
Boxes are still piling up on one side of the hall - but they are empty, because pretty much every carabiner and rope pulley is hanging in the air. Excitement slowly builds up. And then everyone meets in a circle; The first run-through is about to start - "You, you, you and i in Wonderland!“
They're about to fall - into the air:
For tricks like this you need a lot of body tension.
Antonia (9), Juri (9), Paula (11), Esad (10) and Jola (8) are
rehearsing the flowers.
Three days to go until the premiere!
