Origin of Happiness, created in 2017, is a duet on one rope, using a pulley to balance and counter balance the relationship between the dancers. A nerve once believed to sustain the heart, heart string is a place of connection. A thread that is plucked and pulled, stretches and binds, touched it opens the heart. Dancers: Alissa Kaplan Soto and Helen Fitanides

UpSwing Aerial Dance Company is a contemporary dance company featuring the repertory of Artistic Director Cherie Carson. Carson specializes in combining contemporary dance with uniquely rigged aerial equipment. The company performs on trapeze, bungee, fabric, lyra and mostly rope & harness. Pushing the boundaries of dance through artistic collaboration, site-specific & adaptive dance, the Company‘s work explores the boundaries between performance art and aerial dance.
