Dance & Place - site specific workshop on Mount Tamalpais

Join award-winning site-specific choreographer Joanna Haigood for a rare workshop opportunity on Mount Tamalpais. Participants will engage with the ruins of the Mount Tamalpais "Radar Site" - once operated by the US Air Force - and will create a series of short studies, receive feedback and exchange ideas with other dance artists.
The workshop will include a lecture at Zaccho Studio on the history and context of site specific dance followed by two days of creation at the Radar Site.

Open to dancers and dance makers at all levels and from all genres.

Spring Thirst - Zaccho Dance Theatre in Montana

Joanna Haigood and Zaccho Dance Theatre created the beautiful and well received Spring Thirst in residence at Mountain Time Arts in Bozeman, Montana. It was the perfect opportunity to use the poetic power of site specific aerial dance to bring attention to local water quality and conservation efforts.

Get your ideas off the ground!

There is still space for work to be shown during Aerial Tea I, the inaugural session of Zaccho Studio’s Center for Dance and Aerial Arts new quarterly program works in progress showings. Aerial Tea encourages experiments and innovation in work off-the-ground. Work that is brand new and "almost finished" equally invited. Performers and audience members committed to the evolution of new work are welcome.
Spend the afternoon showing work and participating in a facilitated, Fieldwork-style peer feedback session, with snacks!
Performance numbers are limited, please pre-register.

Executive Director Job Opportunity at Zaccho

Now in its thirty-seventh season, Zaccho Dance Theatre is hiring a highly qualified person to fill an Executive Director role. This is a 35 hour/week position plus health benefits.
The Executive Director is a strategic thinker and works to fulfill Zaccho’s mission by working with Artistic Director, Joanna Haigood, and the Board. She/he is responsible for general operating, administrative and financial management of the organization as well as develops and manages organizational policies approved by the Board in areas such as operations, fundraising, finance and budgeting, marketing and communications, community outreach, and touring.

Amy Seiwert's Imagery performs SKETCH 7: Wandering

Acclaimed local choreographer Amy Seiwert and her contemporary ballet company Imagery perform SKETCH 7 |Wandering at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. The SKETCH Series challenges artists and inspires audiences by fostering risk-taking and innovation in ballet-based choreography. Inspired by Franz Schubert’s Winterreise, Wandering offers a significant creative challenge for Seiwert, the premiere of her first evening-length contemporary ballet.
