Moving On Center

Zaccho is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the "Moving On Center, School of Participatory Arts and Somatic Research" to bring its "Somatics Education Module" to our studio in January 2017!

Established in 1994 and co-founded by Carol Swann and Martha Eddy, Moving On Center remains one of the leading pioneers in Somatic Education, integrating numerous somatic systems with the performing arts towards social change.

MOC will feature the "Somatics Education Module" in a weekend format taught by master teachers in the field. This transformational training offers you a unique opportunity to integrate the desire for personal growth with the development of meaningful professional skills, applicable to fields such as performing arts, education and health.

This dynamic and rigorous movement based training integrates various somatic modalities such as: Developmental Movement, Embodied Anatomy, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies ™, The Alexander Technique, Axis Syllabus, Body-Mind Centering® and Voice thru the Body, to give you specific skills to develop your body connectivity, re-pattern habitual alignment and movement patterns and increase your kinesthetic awareness through embodied anatomy. Additional classes and homework assignments serve to build community within the group and provide opportunities for further assimilation of the materials.

Faculty includes: Carol Swann, Martha Eddy, Peggy Hackney, Diane Elliot, G. Hoffman Soto, Frey Faust, Anne Bluethanthal, Brenton Cheng and Vitali Kononov.
