Aerial Yoga

Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8pm

What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial yoga is a combination of traditional yoga poses and postures practiced using a soft fabric (called a "hammock") suspended at waist height, allowing students to achieve proper postural alignment in exciting new ways.
Immediate Benefits?
Feeling rejuvenated and at peace in your body, lengthening the spine, increasing blood circulation, stimulating the lymphatic system with inversions, decompressing joints and promoting relaxation. You explore the territories of your body and mind while engaging in both a challenging and restful practice.
Why Aerial Yoga at Zaccho Studio?
In our aerial yoga class, you learn exercises that will promote a deep understanding of your body through an adventurous and restorative practice. You develop core, upper and lower body strength, flexibility, motor dynamics, spinal alignment, endurance, reflex response, balance and somatic awareness. Zaccho Studio's small classes allow the teacher to give one-on-one attention to each student so they can grow and master the technique in a nurturing and creative environment.
Prices: Drop-in: $20 ~ 3 Class Card: $55 ~ 5 Class Card $90 ~ 10 Class Card: $175
January NEWS!
Joanna Haigood's appointment in New York City

Zaccho Artistic Director Joanna Haigood has been appointed to the Citizens' Advisory Committee to Support the Development of a Comprehensive Cultural Plan in NYC by Mayor Bill de Blasio, Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and the Borough Presidents.

In April, Mayor de Blasio signed City Council legislation to create the city's first-ever comprehensive cultural plan to assess how the public sector can support and invest in the arts, especially in areas where artists face high economic pressure. The Committee will be charged with advising the Department of Cultural Affairs on the development and implementation of the plan, which will address several topics related to cultural activities in the city, including the availability and distribution of cultural activities in the five boroughs, the relationship between cultural activities and social and economic health and welfare, housing and workspace needs of artists, and increasing arts education and cultural activities in public schools.

"The talented and eclectic committee we've gathered to oversee the development of the city's first-ever cultural plan will help guide as us as we lift up all New Yorkers through arts and culture," said Mayor Bill de Blasio. "The arts are essential to our economy, our schools, and our vibrancy as a city, and with the development of a comprehensive cultural plan, we will break down barriers for artists and ensure New Yorkers in all five boroughs can experience and express themselves through the arts."
