SCARABEUS

Scarabeus

BE-LOVED
on Friday 7th November 6.30pm
at The Creation Studio at the National Centre for Circus Arts,
Coronet Street, London N1 6HD.
Scarabeus Aerial Theatre has been working with emerging choreographer Ella Robson Guilfoyle and two young circus performers on a dynamic new aerial performance. Inspired by Angela Carter's short story The Tiger's Bride - a subversive re-imagining of the Beauty and the Beast fairytale - the artists have been exploring the themes of love and transformation, using a very visual and visceral movement language.  We will be trying out the technical possibilities of a specially-designed bespoke aerial apparatus (a Chinese Pole with a suspended cage) to allow us to find fresh approaches to developing performance vocabulary for aerial dance theatre.

The show is at an early stage in its development and is being created with young adults aged 14+ in mind; the themes and techniques explored will appeal to audiences of all ages.  We will be touring the finished piecein Summer 2015.
We would really love you to come and give us some feedback to help us make the show great.
The Sharing will be approx. 25/30 mins long and will be followed by a Q&A and drinks.
Please RSVP to info@scarabeus.co.uk or 020 7281 7493 to book your place.
We look forward to seeing you there!
The Scarabeus Team
*This work is the first part in a ambitious trilogy of work with and for young adults to be created by Scarabeus over the next 3 years.  Through this Trilogy we want to find innovative ways to reach and engage teenage/young adult audiences with exciting new work and through co-producing, digital engagement and partnerships strategy.
