Dear Blue Lapis Light Family,
This is the last week that we are screening Requiem, our 2006 aerial dance production performed on the abandoned Intel Building.
Over 14,000 people saw Requiem; it was a big happening in Austin. The production was viewed by audiences, tenants in surrounding buildings from their balconies, flatbed trucks, condos, apartments and people in Republic Park. It garnered tremendous publicity!
In one of our recent Facebook posts, we featured a KXAN television interview at a site rehearsal in 2006. During the interview I shared how the architecture and environment of each site informs the design of the work and the choreographic process.
