SCARABEUS

Dear friends,

We hope you're enjoying the spring sunshine! It's been a busy few months for us at Scarabeus - here's what we've been up to.

EXODUS - Take Part at Keys Meadow Primary
We have just completed a pilot version of our new education project focusing on issues surrounding refugees and migration with Keys Meadow Primary School in Enfield. 60 students and 20 families used images, stories and objects to discuss ideas of home and belonging. A short film created by Chloe Plumb can be seen here.

We look forward to working with Keys Meadow again this summer on a new performance on the same theme. EXODUS - Take Part will continue this autumn in schools across London and the South Coast.

Of Such Stuff Were Our Great Grandmothers Made
We are very pleased to have received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a new project with Parliament Hill School looking at the history of the women's vote. The project will begin in Autumn 2017 and continue to the end of the school year, culminating in a public performance. Watch this space for more updates!

Flying Into Physics
We have also received funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for a schools' education project using aerial skills to explore the physics of motion. This exciting new programme will work with four primary schools over 12 months and is supported by PHF's Arts Based Learning Fund.

Flying Families
Our Flying Families project for parents with children aged 3-10 supported by Elthorne Pride finished at the weekend, and our parents and children had a great time flying using cocoons and taking part in outdoor activities. For information about future family activities, keep an eye on our Facebook page.

DEPTHS OF MY MIND 2017-18
DEPTHS OF MY MIND, our 2016 touring production, will be touring again in Autumn 2017 and Spring 2018 - watch our website and newsletters for further information and dates!
