Using sit harnesses, we’ll check through basic orientation with each of you, building towards more dynamic vocabulary, choreography & creative play, exploring set sequences against the wall in duets & solos & material for improvisation.
*Strictly for aerialists with prior single point sit harness experience!
This lab is an opportunity to learn some solo repertoire. We’ll also work on guided improvisation between the flyer & rigger on the ladder & trios with 1 dancer on the ground. We’ll work both at low level & at height, with an opportunity to develop skills in both flying & counterweight roles.
*This lab is suitable for dancers, aerialists & counterweight riggers that have experience in flying.
This class will include some key training tools & techniques used in circus acrobatics to help develop your fitness, spatial awareness & body tension with specific core strengthening & preparatory exercises. We’ll focus on elements such as weight transfer & balance, coordination, reception, repulsion & on understanding shapes & initiation points for movement. The class will include basic & intermediate level moves with progressions/variations for each student to build a personal sequence by the end of the week.
